Gerard A. Coluccelli, M.D.
With more than 25 years of ophthalmic practice in the Jacksonville area, Dr. Coluccelli has established himself as one of northern Florida’s premier ophthalmic surgeons. He graduated from McGill University in Montreal and earned his doctorate at State University of New York in Syracuse. After serving as Chief Resident of Ophthalmology at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, Dr. Coluccelli was awarded a prestigious fellowship at Azar Eye Clinic in New Orleans. While in New Orleans, he also served on the faculty of Tulane Medical Center as a part-time clinical instructor of ophthalmology. In 1992, he co-founded the Baptist Eye Institute and has served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville.
Dr. Coluccelli is board certified by both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners, and has received numerous accolades for his work in laser vision correction. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. A veteran of thousands of LASIK procedures and a LASIK patient himself, Dr. Coluccelli was the area’s first to utilize Orbscan technology, which takes ophthalmic diagnostics to the next level.
